Frequently Asked Questions About Employment at AGT
  1. Q.  How will I know I am being considered for employment with AGT?
    A. You will receive a card from our Human Resources department indicating our receipt of your application and informing you that we will consider your qualifications for the job to which you applied.
  1. Q,  Can I be considered for other position other than the position I currently hold?
    A. You can be considered for other positions but you must indicate on your application what other positions for which you want to be considered
  1. Q.  If I submit an application or resume, will it be kept confidential?
    A.  All employment correspondence is kept confidential.

4.   Q.  If I am extended an offer, how long will I have to made a decision to accept or      decline the offer?
      A.  As stated in the offer letter, all offers are effective for 3 days.  You are requested to respond to the offer within that time frame.

5.   Q.  Can I send an updated resume without applying for a job online?
      A.  Yes, send the resume to hr@appliedgeotech.com.

6.   Q.  Are any pre-employment forms required?
      A.  The only pre-employment form that is required is the employment application with the voluntary demographic information.

7.   Q.  How will employment applications be delivered?
      A.  We will have hard copy applications available with our Stennis facility for each person to complete and turn in to our representative.

8.   Q.  How can I get up-to-date information concerning the status of the transition?
      A.  AGT will update this website as additional information is available.  Please check it often for updates or call the HR department at (601)389-3084, ext. 422 and speak with Sylvia Graves, HR Manager if you have questions that are not answered on this site.
9.   Q.  Will my accrued/earned vacation or sick leave roll over to AGT?
      A.  No.  You will need to speak with you current employer to determine the disposition of your current vacation balance.

10.  Q,  How will salaries be determined for the offers of employment?
 A.  If your job duties remain the same your current salary will be honored as a    beginning salary.  You will be required bring proof of your current compensation in the form of your latest paycheck stub.  Performance reviews and salary reviews occur annually.

11.  Q.  When will I receive my first paycheck from AGT?
       A.  AGT pays on a bi-weekly basis which equates to 26 pay periods each year.  Our pay week is Monday through Sunday.  Assuming a start date of April 1, 2008, your first pay day will be Thursday, April 17, 2008 and will cover the time worked from April 1st through April 12th.   All pay periods run one week behind.

12.  Q.  Where can I find out about AGT’s benefits?
       A.  AGT will provide general information about benefits at the initial interview and more detailed information will be available at the new hire orientation.  You can visit our website for a list of these benefits.

13.  Q.  What will happen to the 401k plan that I have with my present employer?
       A.  You will need to discuss your options with your current employer.  The AGT 401k plan does allow for “rollover” of funds from another qualified plan if that is your desire.

14.  Q.  Who is eligible for benefits with AGT?
       A.  All employees who are classified as “Regular Full-Time” or “Regular Part-Time” are eligible for benefit coverage.  Accrual for some benefits will be pro-rated for employees classified as “Regular Part-Time”.

15.  Q.  What benefit programs can I participate in with AGT and what timeframes are they available?
       A.  All “Regular” employees can participate in all benefits beginning on the first day of employment with the exception of our 401k which requires a one year waiting time, our Short Term and Long Term disability program which requires completion of 90 days, and our Tuition Reimbursement program which also requires a 90 day waiting period.

16.  Q.  What holidays are available for employees of AGT?
       A.  AGT has established 10 holidays each year.  The identified holidays will vary dependant upon the contract and the days observed by the customer at the specific location.

17.  Q,  How does the AGT 401k plan work?
       A.  AGT has a matching rate of 100% for up to the first 8% of your salary limited by the annual maximum allowed by the IRS.  AGT also offers a Roth 401k for your selection.  The aggregate matching for both plans combined is up to 8% of your annual salary.  You can elect to split your percentage between the plans depending upon your financial plans.
